2018 In Travel
Traveling is something that I’ve never really done much of, so one of my goals for 2018 was to travel as much as possible. I told myself I’d take a trip every month, even if it was just a small, short trip. Though I didn’t make that possible, I was still able to go on a total of seven trips, which for me is a big accomplishment considering I got on my first plane just two years before. Here is my photo diary of my trips from 2018.
January - Boston, USA
Started the year with a quick trip with my friend Jenny while she was visiting me from Las Vegas. With Jenny, it comes as no surprise that this trip was kind of a mess, but that’s what makes it fun. She spent a total of two weeks with me in NYC and just her luck, we got the worst weather during those two weeks, and the worst of the worst came when we decided to take a quick trip to Boston. Long story short, we made it to Boston, walked around for a little then had to rush home before we got stuck in Boston because they were suspending train service since there was a blizzard hitting that night.
March - Washington DC, USA
May - Las Vegas, USA
June - Zacatecas, MEXICO
Not to sound cliche but this trip was life changing, for many reasons. Aside from the fact that this was my first trip out of the country (hello first passport stamp) which is a milestone for me and also opened the door for more international travel. I also got to explore my parents hometown and meet family members for the first time. It was a very small town which was a nice contrasts from what I’m used to. I was really sad to leave and this was definitely my favorite trip of the year.
July - Montauk, USA
October - Cartagena, COLOMBIA
November - Las Vegas, USA
It’s always a strange feeling visiting home. Things are the same, yet they feel so different. Though it’s been a little over a year since I moved away, I’ve gotten to the point where I just hang out at home. I see my friends less and less, they all have their lives and responsibilities which I’m not a part of anymore. Since visiting Mexico, I am trying to build a better, stronger bond with my family. I spent some time digging up old family pictures and creating new memories with them.
